Appleton Thorn is privileged to have such a wonderful Community Centre as in the Village Hall providing many facilities to the local population, the building is some 150 plus Years old so requires constant maintenance. The Trustee’s have over the Years and especially the last three invested both time & money with projects such as restructuring the fields, resurrecting the old Avenue next to the graveyard and creating an activity centre for the Children.
We are now entering a new phase of projects which require further financial help through our Donation page, work will shortly start on the replacement of the Halls original drainage systems with connection to the main sewer network in Stretton Road thus replacing the old septic tank and field soak away, in addition the toilets will undergo a complete refurbished and be ready before the Autumn. The Hall will be open ALL the time during this work, future works will include tackling the roof as major area’s will have to be stripped and replaced, this has yet to be addressed but is very much in our future plans ensuring the Hall will continue to operate for many Years to come.
Thank you all so much for your support.
